The Hospice of the Northwest Ports of Call Gala and Auction

The Hospice of the Northwest Foundation works with donors to fund programs, equipment needs, and financial support at Hospice of the Northwest. Donor funding helps to improve quality of life for Hospice of the Northwest patients. Donors help keep the focus on the patient and not just the bottom line. 

This year Community Healthcare FCU sponsored the Ports of Call Gala and Auction with a pledge of $1000, donations make a difference in the lives of hospice patients is through Integrative Services. Sometimes, conventional medical treatments fail to completely manage a patient’s symptoms of pain and suffering at the end of life. For these patients, Integrative Services like music, massage, aromatherapy, and energy work can help manage pain, anxiety, nausea, depression, as well as improve sleep and restfulness. Despite their effectiveness in improving quality of life, Integrative Services are not funded by the Medicare Hospice benefit or other insurances. Because of this, Hopsice of the NW relies on the generosity of donors to continue to make these services available free of charge to patients.

My First Nest Egg: Empowering Youth Through Financial Education

We are proud to announce our brand-new partnership with My First Nest Egg, The My First Nest Egg App gives parents the tools they need to grow their kids into successful adults. The creators are two moms, Nicolle and Annie, who spent hundreds of hours consulting with behavioral and psychological experts about how to instill necessary life skills in children. Using what they learned, they built the My First Nest Egg app for other families searching for an age-appropriate solution to teach financial literacy.

In partnership with My First Nest Egg, we're bringing dynamic tools and activities to FIVE local elementary schools in four of the Counties we serve, this includes easy to use premade lesson plans and content for teachers to incorporate, as well as free access to the My First Nest Egg app. In addition, our younger members and their parents will now have FREE access to the app filled with daily activities and exciting incentives to foster a healthy relationship and understanding of finances from a young age. At Community Healthcare FCU, we believe that children are our future, and financial literacy is crucial for their future goals and success. Let's build a brighter tomorrow, one lesson at a time.
